Ladies, I have decided our hike will be on Saturday April 9th,
I have scouted out with my trusty pug Mr. Murphy Lapping Park in Clarksville, off Veterans Parkway, we had a grand time exploring the Trillium trail, Silver Creek and Flatwoods trails. It was still a bit muddy earlier in the week and I had to carry him through some sections. ( I will not be carrying any of you) We were rewarded with nice wildflower siting's including Virginia bluebells, spring beauty also known as fairy spud, squirrel corn symbolizing, protection, luck and divination the wild Hyacinths should be out next, perhaps we can take this all in a week from Saturday. Lapping Park will be a great outing for all members of the group
The Trillium trail is only a .5 mile, there is a Creek overlook trail which is also short. We can add the Silver Creek trail, which is where I saw the predominance of wildflowers, and those wanting more can connect to the flatwoods trail which is a 2.8 mile loop. They have lovely picnic areas so we could bring a lunch, This park as you enter it if a golf course, follow the signs towards the lodge there will be playgrounds and parking.
Since it is about 19 miles from the East end of Louisville I suggest we carpool.
Once I know who is interested and who is driving I can help coordinate. I propose we meet up at our carpool locations by 10:30 with a goal to be at Lapping Park by 11 am a week from Saturday
